Four-star Review for A Stocking Full of Spies (The Ministry of Unladylike Activity Book 3) by Robin Stevens
In the third book of follow-up series to the Murder Most Unladylike collection, that takes place during World War II, Hazel’s little sister May and her friends Nuala and Eric are whisked away from their boarding schools and sent to Bletchley Park to investigate the murder of one of the code breakers. Acting as messengers between the huts where the work is taking place, they use their skills to uncover clues about why the young man was murdered, for which Hazel’s brother was accused. They’re still taking chancers where they should not, but they’re still only about 12 years old. This would be a great book to use to introduce pre-teens to the work done at the park during wartime. The personalities of the three protagonists are developing with each case they have to solve. A well-worn plot turns out to be on hand, but that’s just a quibble.
