My three star review of Trouble in Nuala by Harriet Steel
A
plantation owner is killed near the town of Nyala and Inspector
Shanti de Silva investigates in this routine mystery that takes place
in the exotic locale of 1930s Ceylon. The most interesting thing to
me was to see what life was like during this time. The characters,
including de Silva's wife, his subordinates, the plantation owner's
wife and a lawyer were pleasant. First in a series.
